ClearBlue Markets is excited to announce that as of October 25th, 2021 Sheldon Zakreski is joining the team as Director of Nature-Based Solutions. Sheldon has over 20 years of carbon market and policy experience in both voluntary and compliance markets. He began his career analyzing Clean Development Mechanism offset projects under the Kyoto Protocol, and has since played an instrumental role in designing the first state-focused voluntary carbon exchange in Colorado and the launch of Climate Trust Capital– a carbon fund designed to demonstrate offsets are an investable asset class.
Sheldon has worked for two leading and long-established carbon market organizations – The Climate Trust as executive director and Natural Capital Partners. Sheldon joins ClearBlue Markets to help expand its offset business and meet growing client demand for quality nature-based offsets. Zakreski has a B.A. in economics from the University of Saskatchewan and an M.A. in economics from the University of Victoria.
