Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on, execution-driven Vice President of Product to lead and deliver ClearBlue Markets’ innovative product vision and roadmap. Reporting directly to the CTO, this role demands a strong builder mindset, someone who thrives on strategy and executing directly, getting into the weeds, and driving initiatives forward. This full-time role is based four days a week in our Toronto office.
This role will be deeply embedded in product execution, working closely with engineering, design, client success, and policy teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. You will translate market insights and client needs into real products, bringing a cutting-edge AI-first approach to the product roadmap, prioritizing client engagement, continuous feedback integration, and long-term customer satisfaction.
The VP of Product will take ownership of end-to-end product delivery, driving success by leading execution. The successful candidate will be able to set the overall strategy by collaborating closely with the executive team. You will play a critical role in ensuring ClearBlue continues to innovate and lead in the carbon markets around the globe, delivering products that offer impactful, user-centered solutions that drive our mission forward.
Main Responsibilities:
Strategy, Alignment, and Execution
- Collaborate closely with the CTO, CEO, and broader leadership team to refine and align the product vision and strategic priorities across the organization
- Own and drive product initiatives end-to-end: from writing product specs and validating user needs, to prioritizing roadmaps, and ensuring high-quality releases
Client-Centric Product Development
- Architect and continuously refine a comprehensive client onboarding journey that sets the foundation for long-term success
- Implement structured, scalable AI processes to gather client insights and translate them into actionable input for product evolution and refinement
- Engage directly with clients to validate product hypotheses, inform strategic roadmap decisions, and create stickiness & engagement in subscription products
Small Team Leadership
- Lead and coach a small, agile team across Canada, the Netherlands, and Colombia through rapid, high-impact delivery cycles
- Promote an owner not renter mindset within the product group, focused on outcomes and accountability
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Engineering, Client Success, Client Services and Commercial teams to ensure a seamless end-to-end client experience
- Advocate for product priorities while navigating technical, operational, and market constraints.
- Build a strong understanding of data products: starting with sourcing data from market insights, structuring, visualization, and API or platform delivery to end clients; comfortable shaping products where data is the core value
Data & Analytics Leadership
- Define and execute the product’s data strategy, ensuring data is collected, structured, and leveraged to drive client value and internal decision-making
- Establish product analytics KPIs, using experimentation (A/B testing, cohort analysis, funnel metrics) to inform roadmap decisions and measure product-market fit
- Build scalable data delivery models, including APIs, dashboards, and visualization, that enable clients to derive actionable insights quickly and reliably
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of product leadership experience focused on building and scaling B2B subscription data products (SaaS, marketplaces, carbon/sustainability, or fintech a plus)
- Extensive experience converting market insights into structured, visualized, and delivered product where data and legibility is the key component
- Hands-on execution focus: writing specs, conducting discovery, validating data structures, QA’ing releases, and driving forward without waiting for direction
- Confident communicator: capable of engaging in senior leadership debates, constructively challenging assumptions, and aligning stakeholders around shared priorities
- Driven by client success: understanding of how users consume data, and uncovering required insights to build engaging, valuable subscription relationships over time
- Technically fluent: strong collaboration experience working with engineering teams on API design, data architecture, system scalability, and data reliability
- Strong business acumen: understanding of how to position pricing, packaging, and monetization strategies for subscription-based products
- Data driven approach: Proven track record in designing, launching, and scaling data-driven products, with deep understanding of data architecture, analytics frameworks, and translating complex datasets into intuitive client-facing experiences
