"Michael Berends, managing director of origination at Toronto-based consultancy ClearBlue Markets, said an Ontario EPS without offsets may hinder the generation of carbon credits under the national programme and undermine developers’ confidence in the system.
"'Not only is the demand lower now – and it’s going to be significant with Ontario being one of the largest [sources of] demand in the programme – it’s just the general uncertainty now of what will remain in the OBPS going forward,' Berends said."
