Derek Mathewson is Senior Director, Position Optimization at ClearBlue Markets, where he focuses on aligning the firm’s market intelligence and advisory products with the evolving needs of participants in global carbon markets.

Derek works across product, research, and client teams to translate complex regulatory and market developments into clear product positioning and strategic insights.

Prior to joining ClearBlue, Derek held product leadership roles in the energy and technology sectors, leading cross-functional teams, developing product strategies, and driving revenue growth through data-driven decision making. He holds a Master of Engineering Management from Tsinghua University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Victoria.
